Components	Description
Source database	not a GG component, but part of your existing infrast
Capture(Local Extract)	is also called extract,captures changes from database transaction logs.
Source Trail	Extract process writes commited transactions to  Source trail file.
Datapump	reads the records in the source trail ,passes to target and creates remote trail.
Collector	Starts automatically by manager. Runs in the target system and writes records to remote trail
remote trail	created on remote server in default dir -(dirdat).
	GG auto purge the remote trail files based on age or  total number of trail files to freeupdiskspace.
	Not editable.
	contains file header and each record with own header updates checkpoints.
Deliver function(Replicat)	Process of applying data changes to target db by Replicat Process.
Target Database	not a GG component, but part of your existing infrast
Manager	Is first process in GG to start. Manages trail files, produces log files and reports.
GGSCI	command line interface to manage GG.
DEFGEN	Utility to generage to datadefinition files when S&T are different.
Logdump	tool to view the records in trail files for debugging.
Reverse	tool for undo database changes. Uses extract to capture before images of changes.
